In addition to being the brand specialist for Little Beach Harvest, Sean Boyd is in the process of launching his own brands: Bear Den Buds will be an adult-use brand focused on concentrates, while Mukwoh Meds will create hemp-derived non-THC products for medicinal use, particularly for sports and physical fitness.
“Hopefully by July, I’ll have my recreational brand ready for a soft launch, and by fall, I’ll have everything in order for my two brands to be on the shelves at Little Beach and dispensaries around New York,” he says.
As a member of the Shinnecock Nation, which owns Little Beach Harvest, Boyd says there is some added pressure of doing something for the greater good of the community.
“It’s important for our tribe to be successful in this venture, because it does create a lot of opportunities for the nation and a lot of opportunities for us individually,” Boyd says. “I am trying to step out into the cannabis space with personal ventures and opportunities that have come from working with Little Beach Harvest, which is something I’m grateful for. I’m grateful to have an opportunity to be part of this and continue to grow personally and hope that my personal growth can contribute to the success of the tribe.”
With Little Beach Harvest, Boyd focuses on building relationships with brands and customers, bringing some of his background in hospitality to his role.
“It’s gonna be big for us to gain momentum and build something for our tribe,” he says. “It just makes you feel good when things start to be successful and you can see the wheels turning.”
