Title: Owner and founder
Sarah Aziz was completely unaware of the monumental changes she would undergo in 2020.
“The pandemic shook up my entire life, giving me what I now see as an opportunity to head back to the West Coast and reimagine my life,” she says.
The ongoing pandemic completely derailed her hospitality career in Las Vegas, but one of the only thriving businesses in the city — cannabis — caught her eye, particularly for its lack of products being marketed toward women.
“I remember reading an article in a magazine I respect about what to get your girlfriend for 4/20 and seeing zero brands for my demographic,” Aziz says. “It was disappointing but was really the first moment I imagined becoming a part of moving that needle.”
Aziz headed to Los Angeles and applied her hospitality industry experience to create Sundazed, a female-centric cannabis lifestyle brand with all the polish and production of a high-end cosmetics line. Ironically, Aziz says the posh, effervescent Sundazed brand was inspired by the sullen, gray shadow of the pandemic.
“I want people to feel good and happy and cared for and like they belong to something,” she says. “My background has given me the tools and a foundation from which I’m able to curate experiences for consumers that are unique and memorable. The blandness and sadness from the pandemic fueled my creativity to pursue creating moments like that for people.”
