Alli Greenberg
Company: Impressed
Title: Co-owner and director of operations
Age: 34
Twenty years of ice hockey shaped the way Alli Greenberg handles her job as co-owner and director of operations for Impressed, a Massachusetts-based craft cannabis producer.
Her dad, impressed co-owner Ralph Greenberg, notes that she spent a lot of time in the penalty box.
“I was a little feisty,” she admits. “Accountability is a big thing, and that’s where I think I learned it.”
It’s fair to say that Impressed has been feisty as well, considering the seven-person team behind the 5,000-square-foot grow now supplies a variety of products, including flower, pre-rolls, vapes, edibles and live rosin, to 90 different retail stores across the state.
“I think this market definitely has a lot to give,” Alli says. “I know there is so much more, so I am excited to see what we can pull off in five more years.”
Cannabis was a ubiquitous part of her homelife and a safe alternative to opiates after she tore her ACL playing hockey. She joined NETA as a budtender after the state’s medical program launched in 2016 and then jumped at the chance to form her own cannabis business with her father and co-owner Shahram Moghaddam after the state legalized recreational cannabis.
“I’m just proud of having my dad next to me, being able to bring up the business that we did, although this wasn’t our background,” Alli says. “I was collegiate ice hockey first — everything was game oriented — so to me every harvest is a success in itself.”
